2.1.1 Frigate Integration

Assumptions: MQTT & HACS Installed

Frigate HACS Integration

As with almost any integration we will use HACS as well to integrate frigate into our HA Docker Instance.

  1. Simply go to HACS > Search for Frigate
  2. After Frigate has been downloaded > Settings > Devices & Services > + Add Integration
  3. Then search for Frigate
  4. Install it and you are off to the races ;)

This integration will insert all the cameras and the possible measurements your cameras can take. Just simply integrate all of them and call it a day! Well almost, we still need to install some Notification Blue Prints to make our lives a bit easier.

Mostly Chris Installation video: Frigate Blue Print HA installation

As with most of the automation's executed in Home assistant we again use a predefined blue print for our Frigate automation. The blue print we are using is currently located at the ha blueprint community exchange page

Frigate Mobile App Notifications 2.0

You can also read all the updates here and exchange ideas and questions with the community regarding the blueprint as well.

To install the blueprint is fairly simple.

  1. Got to the forum
  2. Click on Import Blue Print to my HA
  3. Then fill in the IP address of the machine your HA is running
  4. Then click on "open link"
  5. This will redirect you to your HA instance
  6. Preview the Blueprint
  7. Finally click on Add BluePrint
  8. Hell yeahh!!! sweet! the Frigate BluePrint is installed

Perfect now since you already installed the MQTT server and the Frigate integration on your HA instance we can proceed with the BluePrint
