Once, you have a password manager up and running you can save random usernames and passwords not only for you self hosted apps but as well for third party applications, bank accounts and identification documents.

It also provides you with anonymity which in turn relieves you from third parties profiling you and use that to sell to third parties or governmental officials. 

Now, the great thing of using a self hosted open source password manager is that you are in control of your data and it works universally across devices instead of being locked to a specific brand e. Apple/Google or a Web browser.
