1. Installation

application you would like to install is by far a password manager, since all other applications will be depended upon it. The installation is quite straightforward as a docker compose file. We assume that you have already a docker VM up and running and Arcane installed for deploying docker containers. 


1. Open your Arcane Dashboard  

2. Create a new Project and call it Vaultwarden

3. Then copy paste the docker compose file that you can find on the official Github page

4. This compose file also contains e

  1. SMTP Email setup
  2. User and Group variables
  3. Admin Token for administration accessaccess: Create a token with openssl rand -base64 32 for instance in your CLI 
  4. Allow sign ups or not. I would recommend to leave sign ups off and only turn it on when someone you know wants to create an account on your instance. If however, you want to create a server for an organization then you would leave sign ups on obviously. 

 

5. Also note the port number, which I recommend to be the next available open port from your starting port. Recommendation is to start with 1000 and then go upwards by 1 i.e 1001, 1002, etcetera. 6

6. If all good then you can deploy the project

7. Then by setting up a new account you will need to verify your email address to unlock all the features. If you have set your smtp credentials then an email with those credentials will be send to the new user email address.
